Pre-requisites: This is an introductory level course. There are no pre-requisites though it is strongly recommended that students review anatomy of the connective tissue system and the major diaphragms. Non-professionals please note that we will not be reviewing anatomy comprehensively during this course so reviewing the anatomy in advance is strongly recommended.

Course Description: This 2-day introductory Myofascial Release course provides a clear, experiential introduction to gentle hands-on techniques designed to address fascial restrictions throughout the body. Central to the course is the concept of the three-plane fascial fulcrum, a powerful approach that works simultaneously within the body’s three planes of motion to unlock restrictions within the fascial system. When applied slowly and with attentive “listening” through the hands, this method can influence multiple body systems—including musculoskeletal, articular, visceral, and emotional patterns—allowing deeper layers of restriction to release and previously hidden “satellite” restrictions to emerge.

Participants will learn foundational concepts of fascia and myofascial dysfunction while developing skills in precise, respectful touch that supports the body’s inherent capacity for self-regulation and recovery. Attention will also be given to the body’s fluid dynamics and internal “waterways,” recognizing how fascial release can encourage improved circulation, lymphatic flow, autonomic nervous system balance, and restoration of natural movement.

Designed for healthcare professionals—including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and massage therapists—as well as interested non-professionals, this course emphasizes practical techniques that can be integrated into clinical care, therapeutic bodywork, and personal wellness practice.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the basic structure and function of the myofascial system and explain how myofascial restrictions can influence movement, posture, and overall function.

  2. Demonstrate foundational principles of soft tissue myofascial release, including the use of gentle, non-forceful touch and an awareness of tissue response.

  3. Identify the anatomy and functional role of the respiratory diaphragm and related major diaphragms in the body.

  4. Apply introductory, safe diaphragm-focused myofascial techniques to support breathing, mobility, and relaxation within appropriate scope of practice.

  5. Integrate myofascial release concepts into clinical practice, self-care, or wellness contexts while recognizing contraindications, professional boundaries, and ethical considerations.

Description of Advanced Integration Course Series:
Because of a shift in our healthcare economy, many of our students have shared with us that they find it more and more difficult to delve deep with IMT because they are limited in time with their clients. More and more of our students and colleagues are working with insurance and/or persons that are limited in funds. Because of this feedback, we have created the Advanced Integration Course Series, providing our advanced students with learning on how to delve deeper into the advanced IMT coursework in less time. These classes provide the IMT practitioner with critical thinking and integration related to the material in the class. Each Advanced Integration Course will include material from several specifically listed advanced IMT courses that cover a similar topic. During the course, the instructor will provide the student with a deeper understanding of the material and how to use the techniques from the different classes in concert, particularly in situations where we are limited in time.

Course Description:
During this course, Teaching Faculty will present advanced IMT and Integrative Diagnostics relating to the gastrointestinal tract and digestive system. Lecture-style presentation will include a review of IMT from the courses listed below as well as an integration of how to use the material in combination to delve deeper with greater understanding.

The Advanced Integration: GI Focus will integrate the following advanced IMT coursework:

    • Visceral Mobilization of the GI Tract & Visceral Fascial Release (MFRA1)
    • Liver
    • Pancreas IMT
    • Small Intestines
    • Cecum & Gluten Sensitivity
    • Sigmoid & Irritable Bowel Syndrome
    • Some advanced Integrative Diagnostics for the Digestive System

Course Description: According to Dr. Sharon Giammatteo, the optimal intra-articular space between sacrum and ilium is approximately one cm. While this space is increasing, deep-set Osseous Bridges and Bone Bars will often surface between the two articular surfaces. The protocol for Coccyx Phenomenon will address the issues which are keeping the joint space from optimal width. The coccyx must be totally disengaged from the pelvic floor in order to attain optimal joint space between the ilium and sacrum. In this course, students will learn many IMT techniques for assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor as well as restrictions through the spinal column and spinal cord, including vascular tissue. In addition, in this course students will learn multiple motilities and IMT techniques to address bone health and integrity. As part of this course, the Calcium Insufficiency series will offer the student Templates and Blueprint to support systemic calcium absorption as well as bone, vascular, and other body system recovery.
